The Atom-Ess Boost 1200W Portable Power Station supplies rechargeable power for camping, touring and use away from a mains socket. Its 1000Wh battery combines with a 1200W continuous AC output to power compatible equipment.
Key benefits
- 1000Wh nominal battery capacity; 1200W continuous AC output and up to 2400W peak output.
- Mains, vehicle and compatible solar-panel charging.
- USB-A and USB-C charging alongside UK mains sockets.
- Battery display, integrated lighting and protective battery management.
What can it power?
Laptops, camera chargers, TVs, camp lighting and suitable camping fridges, plus a low-wattage 1000W travel kettle or other appliances rated below 1200W.
Many household kettles draw 2000–3000W and cannot run on this model. Check microwave input wattage, which is higher than its advertised cooking power. Peak output is for brief starting surges, not sustained appliance use. Check running watts, start-up demand and the individual socket limits before connecting.
Estimated runtimes
| Example load | Estimated use from a full charge |
|---|---|
| Laptop drawing 60W | about 13.3 hours |
| Small TV drawing 40W | about 20 hours |
| Camping fridge/coolbox drawing 50W continuously | about 16 hours |
| 1000W travel kettle — cumulative heating time | about 48 minutes |
Illustrative calculations, not tested or guaranteed runtimes: nominal capacity × 80% ÷ device wattage, allowing an assumed 20% for conversion losses and reserve. Each row assumes one load, a fully charged battery and no recharging. Actual results depend on inverter overhead, temperature, battery age, output used and device behaviour; especially at low loads, runtime can be shorter. Fridges cycle on and off, so elapsed runtime can differ substantially from the continuous-draw example. Kettle figures mean total heating time, not the time for one boil.
Solar charging option
Connect compatible solar panels to recharge away from mains power. Solar panels and any required connection leads are optional extras and are not included with this power station.
- Solar input: 200W maximum; 10–24V DC; XT60 input.
- Manufacturer’s indicative solar recharge time: around 6–8 hours with a suitable 200W panel, in favourable conditions.
- Match panel voltage, power, current, connector and polarity to the manual. Panel open-circuit voltage must stay within the input limit, including in cold weather. MPPT charging helps make use of available solar power.
- Cloud, shade, season and panel angle affect charging; quoted solar times are not guaranteed.
How to use
Charge the station, switch on the required output and connect compatible devices. Add together the consumption of everything connected. For a 12V fridge or USB-C laptop, use a compatible direct DC/USB connection where possible. Consult the supplied manual before connecting solar equipment.

Safety & care
Keep the station dry and ventilation clear. Follow the manufacturer’s operating, charging and storage limits. Connect appliances directly; never feed a household socket or fixed wiring from this unit. Any connection to a caravan or home electrical installation requires a suitable professionally designed arrangement.
